RapidsDo you ever want to do something but stop in your tracks due to fear?  My first experience with letting excitement trump fear was years ago in my first white water rafting trip.  I had never been a daredevil but decided to sit in the front seat for a Class 5 rapid.  I experienced butterflies in my stomach,  but also a fantastic connection to the awesome power of the river.

Excitement trumping fear became apparent to me many years later, when my 13 year old son wrote and delivered a mediation at our church for 300 people.  I asked if he was nervous and he stated” I decided I could be nervous or excited and made the decision to be excited”.

Everything in life begins with a choice.  All the small choices we make each day  lead us closer to a fulfilled life or to a life with limits.  Our path follows the direction of those decisions.  Connecting to your inner strength or “spiritual core” allows you to eliminate the fear and go for what you really desire.

Fears from your past can limit your experiences.  I have always been afraid of heights. In the last few years, I went zip lining  and hot air ballooning in NC.  I had to reach inside for the courage to do this, but realized the fear was in my mind. Both adventures were packed with safety devices. It felt good to do something I thought I never would be able to do, even though I still had “butterflies”.

Relationships are affected by fear.  They can become stagnant when you are afraid  to show your venerability.  True connection with others comes from allowing the other person to see the ” real you”.  Fear of showing your innermost thoughts are a concern to many people, but all of us have thoughts that are more universal than you think.  If you come from your heart and say what you feel without concern about the response, it is immensely freeing.  Being your authentic self when sharing your feelings requires courage, but also liberates the other person to do the same

Staying in a job that is safe and comfortable, but not challenging is another form of fear.  Worries about retirement, finances and benefits are often blocks to change.  There are valid concerns but looking at other possibilities can open your world to excitement in your everyday life.  If you wake up every day with dread to go to work, your quality of life is truly affected.  Keep yourself open to  these possibilities.  Focus on the things you really want and see how often these appear in your life.  It is very surprising to find what you focus on,  seems to materialize out of nowhere.

It’s your choice: excitement or fear; limits or limitlessness; joy or dread.  It’s time to choose, do so with a belief in yourself!

I usually make several New Year’s resolutions or Mid Year’s resolutions and succeed with a few. This year I made one resolution to encompass all the areas I would like to improve: ” to love myself more”.

By taking time to connect with yourself each day through meditation ,  you release all the mind chatter and get grounded for the day. You know that whatever happens, you can handle as long as  you stay connected to your spiritual center or “core”. When something comes up unexpectedly, breathe and pause to think “Does this really change who I am?” The answer is always no.  You realize that  everyone is dealing with their own spiritual path and their actions are coming from their perception of the situation.  It really is “all about them” and you  just happen to be there to reflect back to them what they need to see at the time.

Taking time for  your health is one of the most unselfish actions you can do. By exercising on a daily basis, eating food that fuels your body and relaxing for short breaks  you will be at  your optimum self. This enables you to be there with more focus for your children, your partner, your friends or your work. If you neglect yourself , you will not have the energy to share your fully present self with others .

Reflecting on what makes you thrive is a way to find what  you can offer the world. We all have passions and talents that others can see sometimes before we can.  What would you like to see changed in the world? What solutions do others seek from you even without you offering ? What pulls at your heart when you  hear or see it? Following a path that inspires you every day,  even without knowing how you will arrive, can lead to wealth. Knowing this path and believing in yourself really does make “dreams come true”

Make the resolution to love yourself more by getting in touch with your spiritual center, finding your passion and talent and spending time taking care of this wonderful body you have been given. These three actions, taken on a daily basis,  can lead to peace, health and wealth.

I have been keeping a log of my dreams for the past five years. Over time, I have become better about recording  them every morning.  I have seen common themes recently of natural disasters and fear in the society.  I have also seen unusual tasks that seem incomprehensible and many loved ones that have left the earthly form.   What is so great about dreams , is they can serve as a guide for our meditations.  I also use Trinity Energy Progression to understand my dreams.

Over the last month, I have been shown that most of the fear and disasters we think about dwell solely  in our minds. Living  in the “what if” only increases fear and serves no true purpose.  Recently I saw roads and railroads being destroyed between the East and West coast of America to cause panic.  I also saw buildings being toppled over in a steady stream in large cities.  When meditating on this dream, I saw this as an analogy to fear in most people’s minds but not a true prediction of upcoming events.   I knew that living from gratitude and positive thoughts would assuage the fear and allow us to return to a peaceful mindset.

I have had many dreams of traveling and working at many places.  There is a common theme of not being able to finish the jobs or the jobs being impossible to complete.  As you know many dreams have you as the hero.  This happens on most occasions with me solving the problem.  When meditating in this type dream, I have been shown that anything is possible when working from the heart, not from fear of unknown or from retreating from seemingly insurmountable odds.

I have also had dreams of people that I have not seen in quite a while.  I will meditate the next day and realize I need to contact them.  They are always surprised at the coincidence of me calling them when they have been thinking of me.  I assure them it is no coincidence.  We are all truly connected if we only listen to our inner guidance. There is always a reason we need to talk once the contact has been made.

Another recurring pattern to my dreams  is the appearance of people that have left their physical form for the spiritual world.  I have had frequent dreams in the past of my mother, father, grandmother and husband who have left, but recently I have dreamed of an aunt and a childhood friend who have also left this plane.  When meditating, I  know they are there to support me and let me know everything is OK with them.  They assure me that they are always there if I need them.  What  comforting thoughts from  the dream state.

These dreams and the subsequent energy work to understand them, has allowed me to become free from fear of embarking on this new journey in my life with energy work.  Take time to record your dreams and meditate to understand them.  It is time well spent even if you only have a few minutes each day to do this.  You will become more proficient at understanding them and may realize that your day is more peaceful.  If you need help getting started, contact me. I can give you a few pointers or work with you one on one. The few minutes you spend connecting to your spiritual self is always worth it!
